William Raskin
Classically trained singer, dancer, and crossover performer.
Baritone and crossover artist William Raskin is renowned for his “vocal agility and tenderness” (Cleveland Classical). A native of Milwaukee, WI, he earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he performed roles including Sid in Albert Herring, Giove in La Calisto, and Fabrizio Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza. He has since performed with companies such as Ohio Light Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, and Sarasota Opera, earning praise for both his vocal ability and “real terpsichorean talent,” (Operetta Research Center) a testament to his background in ballet, tap, and jazz. Recent recipient of the Patricia Crump Vocal Competition Encouragement Award, William continues to build a strong presence in the classical music world. In the upcoming season, he will join The Glimmerglass Festival as a Young Artist, where he will perform in The Rake’s Progress and the world premiere of Derek Bermel’s The House on Mango Street.

Vocally persuasive, with agility and tenderness.
“Jordan Knapick (as Juliette) and William [Raskin] (as Armand) made a cute secondary couple, just as vocally persuasive as the principals… [Raskin] was a likable, if occasionally caddish, partner to Knapick, possessing vocal agility and tenderness.”
